SILVER SPRING, MD – Today, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Board of Directors announces the appointment of Angela Beddoe as the Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the ANA Enterprise, effective April 24, 2024. Ms. Beddoe will provide leadership for ANA, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Nurses Foundation (the Foundation).

Bringing deep experience across corporate and not-for-profit industries and executive leadership roles, Ms. Beddoe will work in concert with the ANA leadership team, focusing primarily on internal systems, processes, and operations. She will support the strategic work of ANA, ANCC and the Foundation, contributing to longstanding efforts and initiatives that advance the nursing profession and health care for all.

“There is not one person in our population who has not been touched by a nurse,” Angela expressed. “Personally, having been a caregiver for several family members, nurses were my strength and beacon during their health care journeys for which I am forever grateful. I am one of over 330 million people in this country who have a vested interest in supporting nurses and advocating for the nursing profession, because at some point a nurse will touch our lives. I am honored to serve in this capacity and look forward to working with the team at ANA, ANCC and the Foundation and serving our members and stakeholders.”

Ms. Beddoe currently is on the board of the Center for Workforce Inclusion (CWI) based in Silver Spring, MD. She is also Chair of CWI Labs, the thought-leadership and innovation hub that focuses on the future of work. Additionally, she sits on the board of Business for Good, a public foundation whose mission is to invest in people to build better businesses, stronger communities and a more equitable world.  Previously, Ms. Beddoe was a Principal at GreenForce Energy|GForce Consulting where she specialized in strategic planning, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement strategies, and business transformation and development. She is a former corporate executive who has served as a Vice President of Public Affairs and President of the company’s foundation, with experience and responsibilities over federal and state government relations, community affairs, marketing, branding, corporate communication, change management and philanthropic engagement. She formerly served on the board as the national Chair of Rebuilding Together, a low-income housing organization based in Washington, DC, which during her tenure had over 150,000 volunteers, and 180 affiliates across the nation, grew revenue threefold and developed key relationships with national brands.

“Angela’s seasoned corporate experience, demonstrated commitment to community engagement, and deep affinity for the nursing profession is what makes her the ideal choice to lead the ANA Enterprise during this transition period,” said ANA President Jennifer Mensik Kennedy, PhD, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN. “We are ready and excited to have her join our leadership team to guide this organization forward with capable and intentional strategic focus.”
