Additional Information

In a recent preliminary North Dakota vitamin D study, results show the average blood levels of participants are deficient at 20 ng/ml with a staggering 20% below 10 ng/ml. This is below the national average according to NHANES data of 26 ng/ml, putting North Dakotans at risk for health disparities associated with vitamin D deficiencyAdditional study findings include:

  • 46% of those under age 18 in the study were below 20 ng/ml.
  • 50% of non-Caucasians had levels below 20 ng/ml.

Vitamin D deficiency is associated with health conditions that impact individuals in every life stage. As a healthcare professional in North Dakota, you can make a difference and decrease the risk of vitamin deficiency in our state.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive:

  • One contact hour for nurses
  • Healthcare professionals certificate
  • A free resource toolkit full of patient and provider educational handouts, posters, research articles, and the latest research updates on vitamin D and pregnancy, mental health, cancer, COVID-19 and more
