CDC reports 805 cases of vaping-related illnesses

CDC officials reported that the number of probable or confirmed severe lung injury cases associated with vaping has reached 805 in 46 states and the US Virgin Islands this week, up from 530 cases last week. The number of related deaths reached at least 12, up from seven in the previous week, and The Associated Press has reported an additional death that brings the total to 13. More than 50% of vaping-related lung injury cases involved youths younger than 25, said CDC Principal Deputy Director Anne Schuchat.
