Coronavirus toll climbs; US response may cost up to $66M

The number of confirmed cases and deaths due to the emerging coronavirus continued to rise over the weekend, reaching 40,171 cases and 908 deaths, including an American who died from the disease in China. The initial cost of the US response to the coronavirus outbreak in China could be about $66 million, and HHS Secretary Alex Azar said it would be premature to ask for more money, in response to concern from lawmakers that emergency funding has not been sought.
