From the ND Department of Health and Human Services - Immunization Champion Announcement

The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services is proud to announce Kelsey Nefzger, RN, Immunization Manager at Essentia Health, has been selected as the Immunization Champion for North Dakota. This national award is presented by the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and honors individuals that have gone above and beyond to foster and promote immunization in their communities. Kelsey takes pride in ensuring our communities are better protected against vaccine-preventable diseases. Kelsey was selected from a pool of health professionals, community advocates, and other immunization leaders for making a significant contribution to public health in North Dakota through her work in immunizations. One of Kelsey’s most notable accomplishments has been spearheading numerous flu and COVID vaccinations in our communities. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked to ensure patients had convenient access to vaccinations which included hosting evening and weekend vaccination clinics.
